Lord To Increase Minimum Wage

This was something that Bill Clinton pushed very hard for during his tenure. I am not only pleased to see that Premier Lord pushed for it, but more imporantly that he made the change:
An increase to the provincial minimum wage will take effect July1, Post-Secondary Education and Training Minister Jody Carr announced today. The wage will increase to $6.70 per hour from the current $6.50, and further increases will be planned to bring it up to $7.10 by the same time next year."I am very pleased that government continues to follow through on addressing the minimum wage, and this 20-cent-per-hour increase is consistent with its commitment," Carr said. "This will benefit thousands of New Brunswick workerswhile respecting the needs of employers in the province."
